Mini Lesson: Developing a Design for "Signal Flags"
Within Ms. Knips's Web 2.0 class, I taught a "mini lesson" to help students develop an idea for their next unit. The next unit involved creating signal flags for the computer monitors. Ms. Knips realized that when students were raising their hand, they were unable to continue working. The idea was to have something that students could put up to signal her when they need assistance. The unit included designing a practical and workable prototype on TinkerCAD in a group. The group then chose one design and printed it. Each of the signal flags were tested by other classes until one was chosen to be printed in multiples.
